India reported a total of 44546 cyber crime cases in the year 2019 which was up by around 63% from the previous year.
Top 3 states with highest reported cyber crime cases (2017-2019)
Karnataka tops the list with 27% of the total cases in India. UP and Maharashtra with 25.6% and 11.2% on 2 and 3 place respectively.

Few report to police
Since last year 2 lakh complaints have been filed on the cyber crimes portal, but FIRs have been registered only in 5000 cases.
In July, over 30,000 complaints were registered but FIRs were registered only for 273.
